Wild Brain[]

1st Logo (October 14, 1997-February 1, 2000)[]

Nicknames: "The Exploding Head".

Visuals: On a black background, we see a white head with purple hair and outline and a pencil lodged in its ears. The head sniffles, and sneezes, exploding into "Wild Brain" drawn in a crude font.

Variant: Starting in 1998, the text has updated, which changed to the 2nd logo’s text.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: Just the sound of a harp or silence.

Availability: Extinct. It was only seen in the '90s as the opening animation of the Wild Brain website.

Scare Factor: Low (bordering on minimal) to medium. The head exploding as well as its freaky appearance can startle some. Medium for the silent version. As the silent can creep some out.

Error: In the 2nd version of the 1st logo. They forgot to change the font when the head exploded.

2nd Logo (1998)[]

Wild Brain 1998 logo

'

Nicknames:' "The Jack-in-the-box Toy".

Visuals: On a white gradient background, we see a crudely-drawn jack-in-the-box toy containing a human brain with a cartoony expression and wearing a crown. The text "Wild" and "Brain" on opposing sides of the jack-in-the-box in black.

Technique: None.

Audio: The closing theme of the short.

Availability: Extinct. Was only seen on the Oh Yeah! Cartoons short Fathead, albeit only on solo airings that would have the original credits intact.

Scare Factor: None to minimal. The weird Jack-in-the-box toy can startle some.

3rd Logo (February 1, 2000-February 3, 2007)[]

WildBrain 2000 logo

Nicknames: "The Eye", "Seizure-Wildbrain".

WARNING: Do not watch the Poochini's Yard variant if you are prone to epilepsy.

Visuals: We see an eye that looks more like a speech bubble, that changes graphics in backgrounds with a variety of crazy stuff, all of them are seen flashing rapidly in order:

  • An anthropomorphic brown dog (wearing blue jeans, a dark blue long-sleeved shirt, white Mickey Mouse-like gloves, and yellow shoes), resembling Goofy from Disney's Mickey Mouse with big eyes.
  • A family eating pizza (but not the dog) on an eye-shaped table.
  • A naked guy lifting the eye in front of a background with constellations (because it has "not safe for work" content).
  • The eye on a background with squares each with stripes of a color.
  • The eye in orange and red on a background with orange and red bubbles.
  • Some houses seen on a helicopter aerial view with a pond in the form of the eye.
  • The eye on a red background with zip-line like clouds.
  • The eye drawn in a little wavy zig-zag like style.
  • The eye drawn in a blue oil pastel-like style on a white background.
  • The eye drawn in a blue watercolor paint-like style.
  • The eye with multi-colored lines and lighting on it.
  • The eye drawn in a purple ink-like style.
  • The eye drawn in a blurry bright blue-like style on a background with squares of different tones of blue.
  • The eye in orange on a background with different colors.
  • The eye in a bright yellow color on a psychedelic background.
  • A town of people with eyes as heads (one wears a black fedora, black trench coat, gray slacks, and white leather shoes).
  • Again, the eye in orange on a background with different colors.
  • The eye drawn in a dark green/orange spray-paint like style on a background of bright green.
  • The eye drawn in a very wavy scribbly-like style.
  • The eye drawn in a smokey-like style.

After that, we see the logo on a teal background with a "™" symbol next to that. The eye then spins around, turning the background blue and revealing the word "WILD BRAIN". The "B" has an extra hump and the "W" has an extra stem.

Variant: On Higglytown Heroes, there is a short version that begins with the eye on the teal background, spinning.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A theme that consists of 2 drum notes, followed by the spinning sound and a weird 2-note theme. On Higglytown Heroes, the ending theme plays.

Availability: Rare. The normal version can be seen on Poochini's Yard. Also used on Higglytown Heroes. This was once claimed to appear on the first episode of Yo Gabba Gabba! on its premiere date airing, but said rumor has since been debunked. It was produced in the 4:3 aspect ratio until August 20, 2007.

Scare Factor: Depending on the variant:

  • Short Version: Minimal to low. The eye spinning can get to some.
  • Extended Version: Low to medium. The flashing will get to some viewers (especially people with epilepsy).

Wildbrain Entertainment[]

Logo (August 20, 2007-February 24, 2019)[]

Nicknames: "Orange Atom".

Visuals: On a white gradient background, an orange atom-like object made up of fat-looking exclamation points zooms out and spins around like a spiral before stopping for a second on the left side of the screen. The atom then flies to the right, wiping in the text "W!LDBRAIN", with a "®" symbol next to it as various copies of the atom appear in a trail before shrinking. The "!" then flashes and turns orange.

Variants:

  • There exists an longer version where it starts out with just the background and then the atom begins to spin around, with the orange exclamation points filling the screen.
  • On later series from the company, "W!LDBRAIN" is sandwiched between 2 bars, with "ENTERTAINMENT" in orange below "W!LDBRAIN", and a DHX Media byline is seen below the finished product. Also, the exclamation points and "ENTERTAINMENT" are a lighter orange color, the text is now dark brown instead of black, and the exclamation point in the text is slightly upscaled. It first appeared on the Monster High special Fright On!.
  • On The Ricky Gervais Show, the logo is still.
  • There exists an open matte version of the logo. This can be seen on season 1 of Bubble Guppies.

Trivia: This was designed by Adams Morioka, who also did the logo for Cookie Jar Group.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A Mexican-esque trumpet fanfare (an excerpt from Cordoba Bumper, from Megatrax), accompanied by a wind sound and followed by a ding sound.

Audio Variants:

  • On some occasions, a couple of whooshing sounds, a chime arpeggio, and a different ding sound.
  • Sometimes, the end theme of the show or silent.
  • On some season 1 episodes of Bubble Guppies, the wind sound is a little louder.

Availability: Common. It was first seen on Yo Gabba Gabba! on Nick Jr. It was also seen on season 1 of Bubble Guppies, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, The Ricky Gervais Show, pre-Nerd Corps Monster High specials, and on the special Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown. This was also seen on UMIGO songs. This does not appear on Higglytown Heroes, because it used the "Wild Brain" branding with the third logo. However, more recent prints of Yo Gabba Gabba! have begun plastering this logo with the current WildBrain logo.

Scare Factor:

Depending on the variant:

  • Normal Version: Minimal. The atom and the fanfare can get to some, but this is a favorite of many.
  • Extended Version: Low to medium.. The whooshing sounds can startle some. Low for those who are used to it.
